Who we are
Site Sorted (sitesorted.co.nz) is a New Zealand-based service that builds and hosts professional websites for tradies. When you use our service, we collect and process certain personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it.
What we collect
We collect information you give us directly when placing an order or getting in touch:
- Your name and email address
- Your business name, trade type, and service area
- Your existing website URL (if you have one)
- Payment details — processed by Stripe, not stored by us
- Any content you provide for your website (photos, text, testimonials)
We also collect basic analytics data when you visit our website, such as pages visited and browser type. This does not identify you personally.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Build and deliver your website
- Host your site and keep it online
- Send you order confirmations and updates about your site
- Respond to questions or support requests
- Improve our service
We do not sell your information to anyone. We do not use it for advertising.
Third parties we work with
Running the service requires a small number of trusted providers:
- Vercel — hosts your website and ours. Your site files are stored on their infrastructure.
- Stripe — processes payments. We never see or store your card details.
- Anthropic — we use AI to assist with website generation. Your business details may be sent to Anthropic's API to produce website content. No personally sensitive information is included beyond what you provide for your site.
Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and handles data in accordance with applicable law.
Cookies
We use minimal cookies. Our analytics provider sets a single cookie to count page visits. It does not track you across other sites. You can block cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to use our service.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as we're hosting your website. If you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we will remove your personal information within 30 days. Website files hosted on Vercel are deleted at the same time.
Payment records are retained as required by New Zealand tax law (generally 7 years), but this applies to transaction records only, not your website content.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Request corrections to any information that is wrong or out of date
- Ask us to delete your information

Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Payments are encrypted via Stripe. We do not store payment card data. Access to customer data is limited to people who need it to run the service.
No system is perfectly secure. If you have concerns about a specific data handling practice, get in touch.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our service changes. If we make significant changes, we'll email customers who have active sites. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
